Travelin'

Yesterday, we traveled over this...

the Sunshine Skyway Bridge through this...

via this...

Everglades...Alligator Alley

...to here...

...checked in here...the funkiest hotel I have ever seen! This is an "historic" hotel. People like Elizabeth Taylor and Ronald Reagan stayed here in the 50's and 60's. I am not impressed. It is neither my favorite hotel, nor my favorite city...but...different makes the world go around and...

...the view from our balcony is pretty good.

It's a bit hazy this morning and my lens is fogging up but it still is a great way to start the day.

Mr. M. is in meetings all day, so Annie and I will  explore a little. I do not drive in places like Miami...it scares me to even think about it. The lobby is a mix of bordello meets I Love Lucy...all you "prim" lovers avert your eyes...this is gonna hurt...

YIKES!!!

I'll be on the balcony.

Enjoy the day,
Robyn

  2. Good morning Robyn...I don't know about anyone else, but I kind of like this picture of the hotel you are staying in...once in a while it is fun to get away from the things we love...just for a little change, and I love those 50's, 60's and 70's decorating styles...sometimes I wish I had seven homes so I could decorate them all a little differently!

Speaking of decorating...LOVE Annie's room...can't wait to see it when you have it all put together...fun, fun!!! Enjoy your day, Tina

    1. Tina, That is exactly how my husband thinks! He says it's not his taste, but it's fun to see something so different. He loves coming down here for a visit now and then, and I have to admit that South Beach is fun!

  4. Yes... that pic hurts the eyes just a little!! Too much "shine?" :) LOL
Wonderful to get away, however, and looking out from your balcony is peaceful and calming... Enjoy your stay.... and perhaps wear your sunglasses in that lobby....

I really enjoyed the trip (via your lovely photos) and that hotel certainly looks like an interesting place!! Perhaps you and Annie can find some "bling" and pretend you are some famous movie stars!!
Hope you have a lovely time enjoying your view!!

  7. Ummmm....well....think you nailed the description perfectly - bordello and I Love Lucy.... Too funny! Guess it just reaffirms that there's no accounting for some folks' tastes! But I do agree that a little dose of different makes life so much more exciting - and "favorites" all the more loved and respected.....Enjoy that balcony view! Gorgeous!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  10. I wouldn't mind driving for some hours, heading to a place as gorgeous as that spa! That's a lovely view from your balcony. I love to wake up to a radiant sunrise too. That's actually one of the things that rejuvenate me. I'm glad you had a great time during your sweet escape, Robyn. :)
