After all the color and sparkle of Christmas, my kitchen window is wearing neutral colors for the quiet month of January.
Some things stay put...this early wrought iron trammel light is one of them...
...and the photo of my two loves is another. This Anne Childs original greets me every morning. I had the privilege of meeting Anne and John a few years ago, and was able to pick my favorites for purchase...a really difficult task.
Another of my favorite things is redware...and an Amish puzzle ball is always a great find.
Through the years I have made many different valances for my window. It's an easy and inexpensive way to change the look. This valance is a nubby linen.
An old farm rack holds baskets directly overhead while standing at the sink. This rack also gets a change up now and then.
So that's my kitchen window for this month. I'll be back next month with my February window...I'm seeing red already!
GO Irish!!! (our brother in law's alma mater).
Enjoy the day,
Robyn
It looks so comforting. I love the splashes of red and the lantern on the little bench.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!! Makes me want to get started on mine!!!

ReplyDeleteYour window is beautiful! Love your redware and your Anne Childs painting. I met Anne at a show in Tenn last September and was lucky enough for my husband to buy me several of her paintings for my birthday. I have enjoyed them so much. She is such a nice person and so talented. I enjoy your blog!

Hi Robyn ... Does this window look into an enclosed porch/patio? No Matter, as it is in itself very pleasing. Love the Amish puzzle ball, picture and of course the rack above the window. How sweet is that? A true sight to behold.
ReplyDeletePeace & Blessings to you ALL,
Barb

ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS, Girlfriend! When it gets this good, I don't know how you can change it up....but know you will, and know it will be equally delightful. I love the plays of black with the red....two of my favorite colors....And that rack with those wonderful baskets is ingenious.... You're good....very, very, good! :o) Smiles & January Hugs ~ Robin

I sigh in admiration as I look at how you designed your window. It looks serene and peaceful. It is indeed a contrast to how your window looked during the Holidays! Be careful with the candle though. Make sure to put it out when you're going to sleep or about to leave the house.

Is it fun changing your kitchen window display every month? Isn't that time consuming? However, I had fun looking through all your window displays. You're very creative! :) Conceptualizing something like this, every month and occasion, is very amazing and it enhances your creativity and imagination. I want to see what your next window display would be! :)
