I found a very old sampler on ebay not too long ago. It is in pretty bad shape around the edges...in fact, in some places there are no edges. I bought it for the bird...and the words in the very center.
1808...it amazes me that anything so fragile survived these many, many years. "In the year of our Lord", don't you love it?
And...the bird has polka dots!
I'll leave this sampler unframed because I like how it drapes.
Have a great week!
Enjoy the day,
Robyn

ReplyDeleteRobyn, I love your sampler. What a treasure. It looks like she used orange around the border. I love how it pops. And you can't beat anything with a bird on it! Looks great the way you have it displayed in the last picture. Hugs, Lori

I'm going to have to start following you around ebay. ;o) I LOVE this!! The polka dot bird is whimsey perfect! And I noticed the "s's" right away also - so many don't get that one correct. Lucky, lucky, you!!! Enjoy! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (PS - do you have the corner on douters too??? LOVE!)
ReplyDeleteRobyn.
ReplyDeleteLove your new sampler, especially love the last name. My son, Evan, is named for his grandfather's middle name, and that came from his Mother's last name of Evans.
