A new number for Annie

Twenty six years ago today, one month early, weighing a little over four pounds and sporting an extra 21st chromosome, our Annie came into our lives.
In the photo above, "Elizabeth Anne" wears my family's Christening gown. We had to wait several months for the big day...until the dress was a reasonable fit. You'd never know, looking at those chubby cheeks and dimpled fingers, just how tiny she was when she arrived.

When she was four, Annie was given a sweet, brown dog for her birthday. She immediately named him Clancy. They soon became the best of friends...inseparable.

They still are.

Happy Birthday, Annie!

You are my heart...you are your Daddy's little girl! We love you more each day and are so proud of you. You bring us great joy.

And...Happy Birthday, Clancy!

Enjoy the day,
Robyn

  5. Happy happy birthday to Annie -- and Clancy! Love the pictures. Such a beautiful post. You know, my DD took her two favorite and beloved stuffed animals from childhood with her to college and now to her apartment. I love that.

  6. Happy Birthday Annie! Let me say I am very impressed that Clancy is still in the picture. I would have lost it several times. Our kids had "B's" - cloth diapers that were their security blankets, it's a good thing they came in packs of 12. Matthew, our middle child loved them so much they were known as dirty "b's" due to how they looked. We left one in a restaurant one day, I ran back in when we realized what happened. They had thrown it away thinking it was a rag (which wasn't far off)! That would have been the end of the world for Matthew. I have that dirty "b" tucked away in my memory box. ~Ann

  7. Happy Birthday Annie! I am actually an "elizabeth ann" too, with no "e".

I love Clancy, no wonder she does too, and the christening gown was just lovely!

  15. Happy Birthday Annie & Clancy! You can tell how very loved and special they both are!
My 15 year old son has a similar pal, a stuffed brown dachshund named Bullet. Our dear Orion, a real dachshund, joined our family two years ago. And now he sleeps with Bullet under one arm and Orion under the other :)
