Candlelight

I lit a few candles this evening. Old habits die hard. When I was a young girl away at boarding school and things got tough, I'd make a visit to chapel and light one of those little red votives. The simple act made me feel better. It still does.

The candles burn every night at our house.

Their soft glow is warm and calming after a long day.

And, although it isn't a chapel, our little house is surely our sanctuary.

Hope you all are enjoying the lovely evenings of October...in candlelight.

Enjoy the evening,
Robyn

  2. I need to get back to lighting my candles and lamps. My Mom liked to have a lamp lit on the front room table, when I was growing up. That is probably the reason for my collection of lamps and my candle making projects. There is just something about that little flame that brings me home and peace in my mind and thoughts.

Thanks so much for the reminder Robyn. It is so easy to get caught up in the grind of life and forget the precious little things. :)

  7. Your house always strikes me as a beautiful, calm, peaceful, loving home. Love that candlelight does that for you -- such a special thing. Sadly, Hurricane Sandy and Irene, plus a few bad winter storms have destroyed candles for me. They just remind me of power outages. lolol!
