Lambie Pie...Adventures in Boston

Hang on ...this is a long and crazy ride! Meet Lambie Pie, an honored member of our family. A few years ago, when Annie was in school, I went to Boston to visit my best friend. Annie suggested I take L.P along so I wouldn't be lonely on the long train ride...I don't fly anymore.(long, very scary story).
So begins the story of Lambie Pie's Boston Adventure...she went everywhere we did.
Because it was cold, I had to knit her a scarf to wear up north....I warned you it was crazy!

We settled in...

...enjoyed the changing landscape...

...and cuddled up.

We shared a nice little cabin, the seat converts to a cozy bed and the scenery was wonderful.

Day One...we said hello to Henry David Thoreau at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Don't you love the simple "Henry" marker?
A stop at The Old North Bridge on a rainy, chilly day led to something warm to drink in the tavern room of The Wayside Inn, and a minute to warm our tootsies by the fire.

Lambie Pie wrote a postcard home every night, telling Annie about our day's adventure.

Day Two...Nantucket! Wow, do we love this little island! We took the ferry out of Hyannis Port and arrived ready to see the sights. First stop, the local yarn shop...a lamb can never have enough scarves!

The cottages of Sconset are pure Nantucket!

Nantucket takes you back in time as soon as you step onto the cobble stone streets.

The whole town was decked out for Daffodil Weekend. Looks like we did a bit of shopping...always!

Local folk lore says if you toss a penny in the water as you round Brant Point, you will someday return to Nantucket...we tossed our pennies and waved goodbye to "the grey lady".

Day Three...Boston. No trip to Boston is complete without a couple..or a dozen...of loster rolls. These were enjoyed on a sunny day in Quincy Market.

Lambi Pie insisted on having her picture taken on this donkey outside the Old Latin School...the oldest public school in the country.

I think L.P. wants to be a teacher when she grows up...or a jockey.

Another lobster roll at the Union Oyster House...a sip of ice tea...our adventure is coming to an end...

Lambie Pie had a wonderful time in New England. She was sad to leave, but excited to be going home...back to Annie Pie. We boarded the train heading south...

...and dreamed about all the lovely sights we had seen.

Enjoy the day,
Robyn

  4. I love Nantucket, and I love Lamie Pie! So adolable and so agreeable, and not the least bit camera shy! Can you market LP, I think we all need a friend like that.

My husband and I toured Boston on a trip east one year and I'd dearly love to go back.
I think we saw the same things you did - and a lot more but never a wonderful shop like the SHEEP TO SHORE...how clever a name.
