I've been hooking as much as life will allow. It's seems to work...Leo is done...for the most part...his tail is in need of a bit tweaking.
The early morning light does not show his colors at their best...he's a very colorful guy.
Now, it's on to the flowers and background.
I made a big booboo when I first outlined his body. Do you see the double row going up his leg and then turning?...it shouldn't be there. His mane should be there. (I was taught to outline the main motif!!!) Big dilemma here...if I take the line out and try to piece in the tiny ends of his mane it will look horrendous. In truth, the booboo is growing on me...it somehow looks more antique-y primitive. I'm pretty sure I'm going to leave it alone. Comments...ideas? You hookers extraordinaire please share your thoughts. Critiques are most welcome.
The lavender flower is coming out..I was playing around.
Enjoy the day,
Robyn
Beautiful rug!!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, he's just wonderful!!! I think you should leave your boo boo. No one will notice unless you point it out like you did. And I had to search. :D He looks great! I am so loving this rug!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! What a good job!

Honestly, I didn't even notice until you pointed it out and then it took me a minute to find it. Leave him, he is grand!
ReplyDeleteI never noticed a boo boo.. and even after you pointed it out I think it looks the way it should. I would not be reverse hooking.
ReplyDeleteLeave as is, I can't even notice any mistake. You would have to point with an arrow to show the mistake.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy spring day.
Hugs,
JB
Robyn,
ReplyDeleteI think he is handsome! I vote to leave the boo boo also. I agree that it's not noticeable unless you would point it out. Your rug is going to be an awesome heirloom. Have a great day. Hugs, Lori
I love your rug, it's turning out great. I'm sure it has to be getting heavy! Mistake? I don't see one. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this rug, Miss Muggie ~ and think it is hooking up wonderfully. DO NOT pull out the 'booboo'... It's those tiny things that make our rugs speak in our own voices.
ReplyDeleteand, the purple flower is perfect too...a little 'poison' goes a long way in making a rug look old.

ReplyDeleteRug hi Robyn, love the lion rug, wonderful job you have done, thanks for sharing, Francine.
ReplyDeleteRobyn,
ReplyDeleteI think your rug is looking gorgeous! So full of personality and whimsy! I think you are a lot like me with your hooking and we worry about the things we maybe shouldn't! LOL! The ol" perfectionist part of my brain can be NAG sometimes. It will be fun to see what you decide to do! Great job so far!!
Hugs!
