...bits of Christmas

Good Monday morning! This month of December is flying by! My decorating this year has been sporadic....never a big enough block of time to get it all done at once. I hope to finish up within the next couple of days.

Our traveling is over for the year. We love to go...but we're always happy to come home to our little "cottage", as we call it. Home is best.

Our dining room...

...simple greens...and candles...and fruit...

The glow of candles makes for a warm and welcoming home.

In the living room, a few pieces of my early red calico join leather "prayer books" that belonged to my grandmother and my father.

...bits of Christmas...I'll be back with more tomorrow.

Have a great week!

Enjoy the day,
Robyn

  5. Hi Robyn,
It all looks so exquisitely charming and festive ... love the wood bowl with strawberry and memories of prayer books... Oh yes, the Ole Thyme Belsnickel too.
To me Simple is best and I start out the season with this in mind. But, then after accumulating so many family memories over 51 years of marriage it is often very difficult to eliminate certain items. However, since I am slowing down a tad, that elimination process is falling into place naturally. In due time it will be accomplished.

Keep the Christmas Spirit with Peace & Blessings,
    Barb

  11. Your home is beautiful! I'm trying to scale back the store bought older decorations and do more decorating with natural things and stuff I've made. I just need to MAKE it. LOL Love the idea of the prayer books in the bowl!
