We're home this morning. Naples was fun and always beautiful, but it is good to be home. During past trips to this old Florida town I always made a stop at The Workshops of David T. Smith. I was so disappointed to find the shop is now closed. It was a wonderful place...full of folk art, redware and beautiful tiger maple furniture. It is always sad to see a small buisness close it's doors.
This hotel is the best part of the trip for me. It is full of old world charm and beautiful oil paintings.
This lovely painting is our all time favorite. Annie always says, "Let's go see the little girl.", as soon as we arrive.
Isn't she beautiful?
The grounds are equally beautiful.
Hope you enjoy these snapshots from Florida.
Enjoy the day,
Robyn
Looks like a lovely hotel -- love the pictures! Glad you're back home.

Welcome home Robyn, Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures of your trip.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the little girl is so beautiful, no wonder that your daughter love to go see it first thing when she gets to the hotel. Have a great week.

What gorgeous grounds!!! I'm surprised by the DTS closing. I subscribe to their blog and such and didn't see anything about it! Glad you had a nice time and I really enjoyed the photos of Florida.
ReplyDeleteOoops....I see I posted my comment about the hotel and those gorgeous paintings on the wrong post....(Or you can think I'm psychic....) ;o) Is that the same David T. Smith of kitchen design fame? I thought his workshops were in Ohio..... (I was trying to plot and plan how I could get them here to help me with my kitchen non-design....) ;o) Happy Sunday! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

ReplyDeleteNaples looks like a beautiful place to visit and what a lovely hotel!
DTS has wonderful pieces though I surely can't afford them...lol! He is located in southern Ohio but I've never been there.
Thanks for sharing!
Pug hugs :)

ReplyDeleteSo sad when a fav shop closes or changes.
I had a fav prim/country store and they switched to all garden.
I truly miss that place and it was over 8 years ago.
There is no place like HOME.
